White House bars Politico reporter again despite judge’s access order
The White House on Thursday again denied access to a Politico journalist, despite a judge ordering the Donald Trump administration to “immediately restore” access for news organisations whose reporters had been barred from the presidential complex.The Politico reporter was stopped from entering the White House and had his press credentials confiscated, the outlet reported.The latest incident comes days after reporters from Politico, CNN and MS NOW were restricted from entering the White House and had their press passes seized on Saturday.US district judge Timothy Kelly issued a temporary restraining order early Thursday directing the administration to restore access for the three organisations for at least two weeks while the legal battle continues.Despite the order, the White House once again barred the Politico reporter from entering the complex, according to the outlet.The dispute follows the Trump administration’s restrictions on access for several news organisations.
